Rising heroically at 07.26 to a beautiful morning. A breakfasting experience of the highest order. Off to work.

Leaving c .09.45. The temperature outside the toasty warmth of B&B Joyful was – 3 C. The Happy Gigster’s traveling snaffle, a bunch of bananas, were black & frozen solid. This is the first time I have seen a fresh-frozen bunch of bananas, carbon-footprint free as added bonus.

Simon is recovering well from his fall, which delayed these mastering session, and has ace support with fulltime assistant Andy…



Today’s work is Jakszyk Fripp & Collins. Simon & Andy have been prepping prior to my arrival. It’s an incredible album! Wonderful! enthuses Simon the Connoisseur. I agree. A Scarcity Of Miracles is a Number One! It’s a Number One! Who can doubt this will sell c. 490,000 copies in its first week of US release?

in Guitar Craft the term Bright Idea refers to ideas which may seem very reasonable, but are not quite driven by necessity.

everything i undertake generates repercussions. that is, my life gets more complicated. if the action is necessary, i can handle the repercussions. if the action comes from what i want for myself, rather than wish for, a mess follows a little while later. if i’m careless, lotsa mess.

from time to time, invitations to participate in various projects come my way; from professional work to Work initiatives. now a little older, with persisting messes to settle before i die, my governing principle is: Honour necessity, Honour sufficiency. so if i get invited into a good idea, but feel no personal necessity, i simply acknowledge: this is not for me & i respectfully decline. if something that requires my involvement is hovering about, and needs my attention, i trust it will let me know. until then, i keep going.

we’re not sufficiently coalesced as a group to be ready for... whatever. but we are together enough to become closer. it doesn’t worry me that there is no obvious aim. working together with others, in a real way, has its own necessity. artistic antennae: we’ll know more about this in 3-7 years.
